Innovative health education and health improvements resources support members' efforts to improve their health. A range of programs and services inform, their health. Fit Choices by Medica. A health club partnerships and online resources provide members with personal coaching, nutrition and fitness to support members in achieving a new level of health.
Medica CallLink Nurse Line. General health information, advise on appropriate care and help with self care are availabe from experience registered nurses 24 hours a day.
Disease Management Programs. A focus on prevention and early detection helps save lives, improve quality of care and reduce health care costs. Medica's far-reaching Disease Management initiative addresses such conditions as diabetes, heart disease, rare disease and chronic pain.
Medica Health Handbook. This self-care handbook provides practical information on more than 180 common health topics, and is available in English and Spanish.
Member Newsletters. The Medica member newsletters keep members abreast of health and medical informaiton and they provide practical information and tips on getting the most from their plan.
Medica Optum Employee Assistance Program. Provides support when employees are dealing with personal issues; helps managers and supervisors address complex issues that challenge productivity, profitability and morale. Includes access to masters-level counselors 24 hours a day, as well as translation services for 140 languages.
Online Health Information. Online access to information on more than 1,500 health and well-being topics.
Employer-based Health Education. Provides employers turnkey health programs for use in the workplace.

Medica's Quality Improvement (QI) program supports Medica's mission to meet the needs of our customers for health plan products and services. Activities support improved care, service access and safety for Medica members through improved internal operations.
In addition to Medica's QI program, Medica is evaluated annually by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), the principal accrediting agency for HMOs. We currently hold the highest rating possible, Excellent.
